Title of the Project Gujarat Forestry Development Project, Phase-2
Project Objective To restore degraded forests and improve livelihood for and empower the local people who are dependent on forests by promoting sustainable forest management including JFM plantation and and community /tribal development, thereby improving environment and alleviating poverty.
Project Area

12 Tribal & 3 Non Tribal Districts 13 Territorial Forest Division (including 6 PAs) & 1 Territorial sub division, 1 Wildlife Division (1 PA), 10 Social Forestry Divisions of Gujarat State. Forest areas in Rajkot Forest Division for Grass lands and Jamnagar MNP division, Kutch (W) /Kutch (E) division for Mangroves.

Project Cost

20,923 million JPY i.e. Rs. 830.28 crore. JICA Component -17,521 million JPY (Rs. 695.27 crore) 83.74%. State share -3402 million JPY (Rs.135 crore) 16.26%
