Scheme Implimenting Through Development & Management wing State Scheme

(1) Development & Communication (Tribal & Non-Tribal)

• This scheme is mainly for providing communication infrastructure in the form of Roads, Buildings including staff quarters etc. This scheme is also providing maintenance and improvement of Roads, etc.

• For effective movement of forest personal for protection execution of the work the existing roads are required to be maintained and new roads are required to be prepared. At places where accommodation for staff is not available new staff quarter for various category are also being constructed under this scheme,

(2) SOIL & MOISTURE CONSERVATION (Tribal & Non-Tribal)

• Earlier various plantation programme such as mangrove plantations, coastal border plantations, plantation as per the provision in different areas, soil & moisture conservation works of forest & plantation area, maintenance upkeep of plantation areas were different models were formulated for different areas where proposed in different schemes . Since 2006-07 all these schemes are clubbed together and renamed as Soil & Moisture Conservation Scheme.

• To increase tree cover area & improvevement of Density through plantation & also employment generation. through afforestation activities.

(3) Fodder Development (Banni Grassland) (Non-Tribal)

• This scheme provides for Fodder Development in grassland areas of Kutch, Saurashtra zone as well as Panchmahal & Dahod districts. This scheme also provides construction of new godown & maintenance of old godowns to be used for grass collection.

• This scheme has shown very good results in grass land development. As a result of intensive working, good quality grass has come up in denuded areas. The storing facility for grass is still inadequate and needs more improvement to meet any adverse situation

(4) Special Area Development (Dang)

• Dang district is full of forest areas and major population is tribal. There were no. of scheme for improvement of forest, living standard of local people, protection of forest areas and so many activity directly related for improvement of Dang District. All this scheme were clubbed together under Special Area Development for Dang District since 2006-07. This scheme provide construction and maintenance of Roads, Salary, fire fighting, maintenance, cairns including uplifting the socio economic status of kotwalia through providing education, medical facilities & accommodation.

• This scheme is a continuous development activities for improving productivities for forest areas and reforestation after harvesting of coupe areas as per working plan of Dang divisions. The schemes related to tribal development and Kotvalias have helped in improvement in socioeconomic status of kotwalias and other tribal beneficiaries in Dang Dristrict. However this needs to be continued for sustainable improvement of the district in general.
