Introduction
Environmental conservation is a multi disciplinary correct and various department are directly or indirectly involved in it and can contribute significantly to the conservation effort. Moreover, forestry scenario is changing rapidly, so far effective implementation of same judiciary, secretarial staff & policy planners etc are required to be sensitized to the new practices, technologies and developments.
Accordingly environmental orientation has been recognized as very important activity. Under IFDP, special orientation programmes have been designed for opinion group, executives of Govt. Depts. people's, representatives, Voluntary Organization etc.
Orientation programme have been conducted by Orientation Division. Orientation Division was established in 1995 headed by Dy. Conservator of Forests supported by a RFO and establishment staff. The mail objective has been to create awareness amongst different Govt. departments, to overcome the conflicts arising out of various developmental considerations and to bring different agencies on common platform for better coordination and for environmental development.

Target Group
The target groups includes the agencies like Panchayat, Rural Development dept., Agriculture, Horticulture, Irrigation, PWD, Legal dept. and Tribal welfare dept.

Course Module
The course designing is done carefully so as to allow subject specific coverage. Keeping specific role of different departments and their perception levels, the course content largely include guest lectures from Universities & Autonomous institutes active in the field of environment, forestry, pollution control, ecology, wildlife, research and conservation etc.
Course Duration
The duration of the course are decided as per the target group and subject. Usually course of 1 to 3 days are conducted, careful planning has been done to ensure the proper spread of such trainees, which involves selection of trainers from entire state.
Subject Focus
So far various courses have been conducted covering the subject such as land development, Joint Forest Management, Bio-diversity, Stress Management, Forest Conservation and Development, Role of Judiciary in Conservation, Role of NGO for Joint Forest Management, preparation of forest development projects and future strategy for forest development and environmental education.
